a new earth

Oprah & Tolle’s class. Notes from Chapter 1: Humanities crisis- evolve or die: Ego- are you trapped ‘in’ thought or ‘aware’ of thought? Laugh at the madness. Do not try to understand this book just ‘experience’ it. Looking at ego makes it shrink. 'Awareness' of ego puts it in check. Simple ways to become ‘present’: focus on your breath.. while washing hands, etc. ‘Observe’ nature, don’t ‘label’ it, flower, tree, park, etc. Access sacred stillness through breath. Your power is Now. The Kingdom of heaven is at hand, right here, Now. 'Home' is Now. Heaven is not so much a destination as a manner of travel. We think of ordinary action as a ‘means to an end’ when we could be more conscious and present in each task, like climbing stares. Pay attention, don't think. Sensing quickens reason. Observe/witness vs judge. Start from a place of ‘acceptance’, not dissatisfaction. ‘Trust’, not resistant thought. We attract what we offer. Page 13- We do not become good by trying to be good. But by finding the goodness deep inside us and allowing it to emerge. This requires a shift of consciousness. See Tolles booklet ‘Stillness Speaks’. Author Goldsmith. Watch the first class. “Be still, and know that I Am god."

Definitely - to become a part of what you're doing and to actually experience it is definitely different than just labeling it or calling it something. Instead of saying, "Oh, I did that," you can say, "It was a great experience."
